Nicole Inskip - Director of Sessions Hairdressing

Nicole Inskip - Director

Nicole is el capitano of Sessions and has proudly held and supported her dream and evolving vision for the past 10 years. She began her journey at 17, fresh out of high school, in search of connection and creative expression and stumbled into hairdressing after a suggestion from her dad to “give it a go”. She knew the moment she walked into Sessions for her trial day that this was where she wanted to be.

Being mentored by some of the most outstanding hairdressers, stylists and colour technicians in the industry has awarded Nicole a breadth of knowledge that allows her to understand what her clients want on a commercial level and deliver every time. Her passion lies within the connection she has with her clients and the community she has built around Sessions.

Donna Brabham - Sessions Hairdressing

Donna Brabham — Principal Stylist

Donna is our bubbly british export from Eastbourne, UK where she took up the art of hairdressing over 14 years ago. She was drawn to hairdressing after assessing her own experiences in the chair and realising that she could offer a better level of customer service to her clients. After qualifying and working in the industry in the UK, Donna craved change and a move to Australia was imminent.

She has a real passion for colouring hair and is always upskilling on emerging trends and techniques. Making people from all walks of life look and feel beautiful is what keeps her coming to work everyday with a smile on her face and she isn’t afraid of a fun fact or two. Laughing and smiling all day hardly feels like a job after all.

Natalee Davenport - Sessions Hairdressing

Natalee Davenport — Principal Stylist

Starting her hairdressing career, spanning 17 years, in the bustling and chaotic entertainment industry Nat dabbled in television, theatre, and fashion shows before realising she is happiest in the salon. In this time she also became a qualified makeup artist. In 2012 she opened her own hairdressing salon, Clara Bow, then sold up in 2016 to make the move to Noosa where she lived with her hubby and pooch for 12 months before Sydney came calling again.

Nat has recently shifted her focus from only outer beauty to a more holistic approach, including inner health with her studies in Dietetic Nutrition. Working with us part time allows Nat the freedom to focus on her studies while doing what she loves. Nat enjoys connecting with people on a personal level in a calm environment where she can create beautiful, wearable hairstyles that leave her clients feeling pampered and happy.

David Melrose — Master Cutter

The Hairdressing industry has captivated David for over 30yrs. As a stylist and educator he has seen and been involved in creating many seasonal hair trends. David is heavily influenced and driven by the ever evolving fashions and seasonal trends in hair; the most exciting thing for David as a stylist, is that a hairstyle will always remain as individual and unique as the person wearing it.

Davids main inspiration comes from the people around him. Friends, clients, work mates, family and strangers. It is their stories, their lifestyles, their needs and their desires that drive him to create.
It’s about helping people to feel good about themselves, so they can achieve as much, or as little as their hearts desire. Hair is an ever changing medium and deserves to be treated as such. Davids extensive knowledge and experience of hairdressing and cutting in particular, means that he can offer the very best advice and service to every client who sits in his chair.

Kaitlyn Lang - Makeup Artist

Kaitlyn Lang — Makeup Artist

Kaitlyn realised her passion for makeup back in her dancing days where she worked with stage makeup for concerts and just absolutely fell in love with the art. Through her training, Kaitlyn has found inspiration from the runway to Instagram and is constantly stepping outside her comfort zone to learn fresh techniques to give clients exactly what they desire.

Kaitlyn believes that beauty starts from the inside and makeup should be used to shine a light on your unique beauty which is why she has recently completed a course in positive psychology. She uses these skills to make sure women not only look great but also feel like the best version of themselves when they leave their appointment.

Jeremy Charkos - Yoga Instructor

Jeremy Charkos — Yoga and Meditation Instructor

Jeremy started working as an holistic personal trainer over 6 years ago. In 2012 he found meditation and yoga and instantly fell in love with all aspects of both practices, but most notably meditation. Intrigued and encouraged by the effects of his meditation practice, Jeremy travelled to India in 2016 to learn more about meditation and how to guide others through the practice. Completing his 200 hour yoga teacher training in Byron Bay in August 2017 saw him heading to Koh Mak, Thailand in early 2018 to build and teach a meditation and yoga program at the Ao Kao white sand beach resort.

Through a calm, mindful delivery, expect to discover a sense of ease to your practice in Jeremy’s yoga and meditation classes. Jeremy hopes though teaching meditation and yoga he can encourage people to establish a daily practice that helps them cultivate love, compassion and patience in their everyday lives.

Chelsea Joy - Yoga Instructor

Philippa Masaoka — Yoga Instructor

Philippa fell in love with the practice of yoga after a friend introduced her to the mat in 2009. Drawn at first to the physical and detoxifying benefits of yoga, Philippa also learnt to appreciate how consistent practice helped her become a more grounded, centred and calm person.

Philippa undertook yoga teacher training in Bali with the Awakened Life School of Yoga in 2013.  She has undertaken further training in assisting and alignment, yoga sequencing with Simon Park and Noelle Connelly and Yin Yoga with Melanie McLaughlin.

Philippa’s intention in her classes is to create space for one to develop more openness and strength in their body, to open the Heart and connect more deeply to Self.

Ralph.jpg

Ralph Inskip — Welcoming Committee

Ralph is the fluffiest member of our team and his attention to customer satisfaction is second to none. Ralph first realised his dream of working in a hair salon when he met Nicole one year ago. It was only natural that he would follow in her footsteps and when Ralph was introduced to the team and clients of Sessions, his role in the salon was created.

Ralph loves pats, cuddles, and playing fetch or tug of war with one of his many toys (mostly his well loved fox). He has even been known to have a nap on the couch with you if the opportunity arises. He is a gentle, beautiful soul who puts a smile on everyones face and he does his job with an equally huge smile on his own fluffy face. Ralph can’t wait to meet you!

Sustainability banner

We are well on our way to achieving our vision of becoming a 100% sustainable and community focused business. Our owner- Nicole, is always on the look-out for innovative ways to care for our customers and the environment without compromising on quality when she discovered Sustainable Salons. Since becoming a member in 2015, Sessions have stopped 21 wheelie bins of waste from being dumped into landfill. Chemicals, metals and plastics have been repurposed but some of the real feel-good initiatives include, collecting 82kg of hair cuttings to create 69 hair booms to soak up oil spills in our oceans, donating ponytails to make wigs for cancer and alopecia areata sufferers, as well as providing 69 meals to those in need via OzHarvest from the proceeds of our recycling efforts.

Our success with Sustainable Salons compelled us to dig deeper and find out what else could be done in the salon to reduce our environmental impact. Initiatives include using eco-head water-saving taps, buying biodegradable hair towels made from cardboard, as well as sourcing quality products- that don’t harm humans, animals or the earth. For us, sustainability deals with the responsibility we owe to ourselves, the people with which we work, our customers, and the world in which we live and operate.
